Where your data lives
Edit currently runs in demo mode: your name, age, body details, budget, style preference answers, wardrobe, photos, and chat history are stored in your own browser (localStorage), not on a server we control. Two people never see each other's data — but the same is true in reverse: if you clear your browser, switch devices, or use a different browser, that data doesn't follow you. There is no password and no account recovery, because there is no server-side account.
Your photos
Front/side photos you upload during onboarding are used only to generate your Style Identity. When AI generation is available, those photos (and your other onboarding answers) are sent to Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude — whichever is configured — to produce your profile. When AI generation isn't available, a rule-based system generates your profile locally instead, and nothing is sent anywhere. Either way, your photos are never shown publicly, never shared with other users, and you can delete them at any time from your Account page.
The stylist chat
Messages you send to Ask My Stylist are sent to whichever AI provider is configured (Gemini or Claude) to generate a reply, along with relevant context from your Style Identity and wardrobe so the advice is actually about you. Chat history is stored locally in your browser, the same as everything else.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate usage (which pages get visited, roughly how many people use the app) — it doesn't use cookies and isn't tied to your name, email, or any of your style data.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't show ads or use ad-tracking pixels. We don't share your profile, photos, or chat history with other users or third parties beyond the AI providers described above, which only ever see what's needed to answer your specific request.
Deleting your data
Since everything lives in your browser, clearing your browser's site data for this app deletes it. There's also a Delete account button on your Account page that does the same thing from inside the app — it's permanent and can't be undone.
This page describes current technical practice, not a substitute for legal advice. If this app starts storing data on a real server instead of your browser, or is used somewhere with specific legal requirements (like GDPR or CCPA), this page should be reviewed and updated to match before that changes.
